Then Wednesday I had my new missionary training. It was
super cool to see all my buddies from the MTC, and hear President
Clements speak. He is a wizard, plain and simple. He is so inspired it
is just incredible. Immediately following the training, Elder Clark and I
had our AP exchange. I was with Elder Neeley for the evening. We went
and taught a Kenyan couple that was baptized like 3 days earlier, and we
talked about enduring to the end and the Sacrament. It was an awesome
experience to be with the veterans! Elder Neeley goes home in like two
weeks, but he is still very much focused on the work! The APs are a
super awesome fun group to be with! (there is 3 of them).
Then on Thursday we headed to St Cloud for a
District Meeting. Oh by the way my Zone Leader is Elder Mattison, (Dad
this is Max Mattison's nephew). The Zone Leaders are hilarious and I
love them to death! And after the meeting, we had the most amazing thing
in the entire world other than a baptism! CHIPOTLE!!!!!!! There is one
in St Cloud and i cried with joy as I ate the most wonderful thing on
the planet! Anyways that was cool so ya.
Friday
we had another awesome miracle! We were out tracting, and we got let in
by a Catholic family who kicked us out when we invited them to be
baptized (can't handle the truth). So as we were walking up the street,
we both just turned around. We saw like a black hooded figure walking
in the darkness. Turns out he really is black, and he is like one of 15
in the whole city. Anyways we start talking to him, and he says, "I love
your church! I used to meet with the missionaries back in California,
and I love the prophet and I watch General Conference!" We were
dumbfounded obviously! So we are going to be meeting with him next week
since this week we will be in St Cloud from Tuesday morn until Friday afternoon with exchanges and Zone Conference. So super pumped about that one!
Saturday
I can't really remember who we taught haha. But I do remember some guy
proceeded to tell us we follow Satan in the darkness. lol. But we did
meet a guy who gave us some wicked awesome fishing lures for free.
Apparently they are like 30 dollar lures. So I have them hanging in the
pad.
Sunday
was the Primary Program, and it was incredible! There is only like 20
or 30 kids in the ward, so it is WAY smaller than Hawes ward. But the
Spirit is there still the same! Then last night we went out tracting,
and almost ran into a Bible study! I wish we woulda gone there like an
hour earlier and showed them some good stuff about how they are wrong
haha. But they were super nice people. The thing I have noticed about
the people here is that everyone definitely appreciates what we are
doing. It is cool to hear that and all, but they just don't realize how
important our message is. One day they will accept it, in this life or
the next. Then we met a really awesome guy named C---, He let us in
(which is rare) and told us all his life troubles. He split up with his
fiance, and she took the baby, all because of alcohol. That was like a
couple weeks ago. And so he just moved to Alex, and is searching for
Christ. We taught the Restoration, and when we invited baptism he said
he will come to church first! We love gators at church! And then we
brought up the Book of Mormon he said he would read it cover to cover
this week! WHAT! It was crayzay! So we are expecting some good stuff!!
Well this week we have an exchange with St Cloud
Elders Tuesday, then Zone Conference Wednesday morn, the 48 hour
exchange with the Zone Shepherds until Friday! Then ward Halloween party Friday night! Then all the sudden it is Saturday!
Then there will only be 1 week left in the transfer! Then just 26 more
transfers! haha that is a big number... But seriously time flies!!
Well people I KNOW the Church is true! I can't wait
to see people accept the message and enter into their first covenant
with Heavenly Father! People are looking for truth, and we have it! We
just need to find those people! This church has been restored and i am
on a mission to share it.
'Ofa lahi atu!
Elder Evans
PS
Send me some speech learning materials. Elder Clark is just like every
Utah fool and calls ChipoTLe ChipoLTe. The T is before the L, not after
:)
